I haven't heard of that first group of cultivars - but I have been growing Xishi for several years now. Anyone living in a warm humid climate (I live in central North Carolina)would like this peony. Lovely and plentiful full double pink flowers, held well above the foliage. Good looking plant, too.

Hi Bunny, Xi Shi is not a southern tree peony,it is a middle center plain tree peony also, when the middle center plain tree peonies transplant to southern of China, then most of them can suit the warm and wet climate. Kind regards
