02.01.2001 Meine Bilder über 'Oriental Gold' vor ein paar Tagen haben eine intensive Diskussion (in englisch) entfacht. Mit der Erlaubnis der Mitglieder dieser Liste (www.egroups.com/group/peony) bringe ich hier einen Auszug aus dieser interessanten Diskussion. Ich habe ein paar neue Scans von den Bildern von Basilius Besler (1613) gemacht. Was man sich so alles vom Weihnachtsmann schenken läßt! I made some newer scans of Besler's Hortus Eystettensis (1613). From one of my Gifts of Santa Claus.

02.01.2001 Das Jahr fängt ja gut an! Ich habe mal wieder die Homepage meiner Uni besucht, und von dort aus die verlinkten ungarischen Suchmaschinen über „pünkösdirózsák“ ausgehorcht. Übrigens, einer der ungarischen Namen der Pfingstrose = pünkösdirózsa ist basa-rózsa, Rose des Pascha. Ein Zeichen, daß sie mit den Türken kam. (Neben den heimischen). Das kam dabei heraus: This is a good start for the year. From time to time I'm taking a look on the website of my University in Budapest using from there the hungarian search-engines about „peonies“. BTW, in hungarian the peony has beside the name pünkösdirózsa (= Rose of the witsunday, like in german Pfingstrose) another name: basa-rózsa, Rose of the Pasha. It came with the turkish invadors (Besides the natural hungarian ones) . These wonderful sites are the result:
