Chris laning's Sunny Boy is a good yellow for its ancesatry, two-stage double (flower-in-flower), stamens not completely changed to petals (progressive, rather than over-all transformation) and will make normal carpels in its less advanced flowers, as are typically produced on lesser stems or occasional sidebuds. It is an advanced generation hybrid having restored fertility, readily produces pollen and seeds, presumably tetraploid. In short it is a breeders dream. Unfortunately, its numbers have not been bulked up and it is difficult to obtain a piece. |
SUNNY BOY No staking. 95cm. Very full rich cream double flowers on a tall plant with strong stems. |
