GREENLAND (Roy Pehrson; registered by William J. Seidl), April 12, 1989. Seedling number, Garden names: Roy's D.W, "RP-SSD," "Green Viking." Double herbaceous hybrid. Parentage, Sanctus x a non-white F3 derived from Silver Dawn. First year bloomed (guess) about 1974-75. Rec'd. from Roy 1978. White double form, large inner petals, ruffled, cupped and crimped; outer petals large, broad, shaded green underneath. Stamens clustered around small carpels tipped red. Tetraploid. Fertile pollen when used on other tets. Medium large foliage, husky upright stems, usually no laterals. 30-36" height, midseason bloom. |

Greenland* (Pherson/Seidl, 1989) EM. Double; opaque white, broad fluted outer petals shaded green underneath; billowing inner petals, ruffled, cupped and crimped surround a small cluster of stamens; carpels tipped red. Medium large foliage, husky stems. Pehrsons garden name was Super D. (Sanctus x a Silver Dawn F3, said by Chris Laning to be the one we later named Dawn Glow). Tetraploid, pollen said to have useable fertility. |
