23.08.2004 Neues Päonien-Buch erschienen: Josef J. Halda with James W. Waddick: The genus Paeonia. Botanical Illustrations by Jarmila Haldová, published by the Heartland Peony Society, Timber Press, Portland, Cambridge ISBN 0-88192-612-4. 227 Seiten, Part I: The Genus Paeonia by Josef J. Halda, part II Growing Peony Species by James W. Waddick and Josef J. Halda New peony book is on the market. Title see above. A very interesting publication with the huge botanical work done by the czech botanist-academician Josef J. Halda with many new ideas and a complete reclassification of the whole Genus, no other botanical book on peonies can compare with this work since F.C. Stern's Monography pulblished in 1946. Many of Halda's classification ideas are new and surprising on the first reading. As Halda finsihed the work on the Genus Paeonia as early as 1997 and the works waited for being published over a duration of years (until James W. Waddick and the Heartland Peony Society helped the book seeing daylight), many of his reclassifications have been recognised by other botanists, mainly through the work of Prof. Hong De-yuan from The Chinese Academy of Sciences on the mediterranean species, mainly Paeonia daurica and Paeonia corsica.

19.08.2004 Ab heute ist die Website bei einem neuen Provider gehostet. Ich hoffe, daß ich beim Umzug keine Dateien verloren habe. Nachdem ich die 1000 MB Webspace voll hatte, habe ich mir einen Provider gesucht, der mir mehr Webspace bietet (jetzt 2000 MB) und dazu vielleicht noch weniger kostet (jetzt 19,99 Euro statt 39,99 - und die ersten 555 Tage sind frei). Ich hoffe nur, daß der Service nicht schlechter ist und die Verfügbarkeit der Site genauso stabil ist wie in den Jahren bisher. Sollten Sie irgendwo Unstimmigkeiten bemerken, teilen Sie das bitte über das Feedback-Formular mit. Geben Sie bitte den Namen der Seite an (Rechtsklick: Eigenschaften)und die Stelle, wohin sie geklickt haben. Die „alte“ Website ist bis zum Auslaufen des Vertrages beim, alten Provider noch unter www.mudan.de verfügbar, wird aber ab sofort nicht weiter gepflegt. Die „neue“ Domain heißt www.paeo.de, aber auch die gewohnte Adresse www.paeon.de ist auf diesen Webspace konnektiert. Demnächst werden die von mir noch benutzten Zweitnamen (pfingstrosen.net usw.) auch umziehen zu einem Namens-Hoster, wovon dann auch der bisher als Hauptidentät genutzte Name paeon.de betroffen sein wird. Es könnte beim Umschalten des Namens paeon.de auf einen anderen Anbieter bei Kündigung des Paketes zu vorübergehenden Problemen kommen. Merken Sie sich deshalb die Domain paeo.de zwischenzeitlich vor, falls mal etwas nicht klappen sollte, müßte dort alles stabil laufen. Das konnte ich bisher testen. Nach dem vollzogenen Umzug sollte dann aber alles wie gewohnt unter den bekannten Adressen weiterlaufen. Since today the website is hosted with another provider. I hope, that during the movement no files have become lost. After the 1000 MB webspace were full, I had to look for a new provider with more webspace (now 2000 MByte) and with minor costs (now 19.99 euros instead of 39.99 and the first 555 days are for free!). I just hope, that the service provided is not wronger and that the availability of the the domain name is almost 100 % as it has been over the duration of the last 4 years. If you find any files missing or links broken, please give me a short information using the feedback facility and naming the name of the file and the place where you've clicked. The „old“ domain ist still available with the old provider under the name www.mudan.de until the prepaid contract is finished, but will not be updated anymore. The „new“ domain is hosted under the URL www.paeo.de, but the used address www.paeon.de is also connected with the new webspace. In a few days I will move all my other domain names (like pfingstrosen.net etc.) to a new name-hoster (in the old contract with 1000 MByte webspace 10 names were included), and so will move the name paeon.de to a new provider too. During the connection of this name from the old provider to the new one problems may occur. Only for this reason, please remember the name www.paeo.de too, this will work always (I hope so at least). It is tested and works. After this I hope everything will work as it used to under the well-known address www.paeon.de .
