16209 (brilliant, late) ( QUADRUPLE HYBRIDS A "Mloko-macro" hybrid was crossed onto officinalis, and the resulting triple hybrid was in turn crossed onto an albiflora. Mloko gives them their golden ivory sheen, and many are brillantly flared. Introduced from 1949 on, their blooming season covers VE, E, and often on into M, Very few seeds are set.)

May Music (Saunders/D. Reath 1973) E, Single; strongly cupped petals open with tulip-like proportions; dramatic color pattern, petals apricot-buff, heavily washed, veined and flared in a dusky wine hue. Erect stems, medium height, tall among the Saunders Quad Hybrids. Triploid but has useable fertility.
(-9) A peony with an impressive genealogy including four botanical species : Mlokosewitschii, macrophylla, officinalis et lactiflora. Simple flower form, cup shape, of a splendid mix of abricot ( Mloko inheritance) with purple flares at the base of each petals and purples lines on the petals. Very pretty spring beauty! Strong stems. Quads hybrid unfortunately with few fertility. Plant of 90 cm. Early bloomer. Sun in the spring garden!
(-9) Une pivoine au bagage générique impressionnant avec quatre espèces botaniques dans sa généalogie: Mlokosewitschii, macrophylla, officinalis et lactiflora. La fleur est simple, en forme de coupe, d’une couleur crème abricot (provenant de Mloko) avec des macules pourpres à la base des pétales et de fines lignes de la même couleur sur les pétales. Fleur très jolie! Tiges fortes, tenant bien les fleurs. Quadruple hybride, malheureusement peu fertile. Plant d’environ 90 cm. Floraison hâtive. Égaiera votre printemps!
