BOULE DE NEIGE. bool-de'-nayzh'. (Calot, 1867.) 8.0.
Double type; large; early midseason. Cupped outer petals surrounding a fluffy center of mixed narrow petals and stamens. White with a yellow suffusion and very prominent crimson flecks on the guards and on a ring of short thick petals near the center; fragrance raw and pungent. Tall; floriferous; strong stems. Heavy dark foliage.
Blooms immediately after Festiva Maxima and somewhat resembles it. It is closer to Monsieur Dupont in appearance although its red markings are much more conspicuous.

'Boule de Neige' (Calot, Frankrijk, 1862) Bloemen wit, gevuld, middelvroeg; tepalen komvormig en omgeven met een mix van kleine, gele tot crèmeachtige tepalen en meeldraden; ring van de tepalen in het centrum en stampers opvallend karinijnrood gevlekt; bladeren groot, donkergroen; hoogte 100 cm; bloemstengels stevig, vertakking goed.'Boule de Neige' is een mooie en zeer goede, aan te bevelen cultivar. Volgens ingewijden is deze cultivar resistent tegen Botrytis, hetgeen de keuringscommissie niet kan bevestigen.
Boule de Neige - A lovely white double peony, similar to Festiva Maxima but instead of streaking some petals have a very fine frill of magenta. Heavy dark foliage with strong stems.

Roomwitte geheel
gevulde bloemen waarbij de gele meeldraden zichtbaar zijn. De
roodgerande bloembladeren in het centrum geven de bloemen een
exclusieve uitstraling. Relatief veel zijknoppen. Een zeer oude
cultivar die haar sporen heeft verdiend en nog altijd waarmaakt.
Niet voor niets wordt ze ook wel de witte tegenhanger van de zeer
bekende 'Sarah Bernhardt' genoemd. Met haar donkere en stoere
gewas, bloeirijkheid en krachtige groei is ze een zeer goede
variëteit.

Creamy white full
double flowers. The large outer petals surround a fluffy center of
mixed narrow petals and yellow stamens. The center petals are
edged with red, providing the flowers with an exclusive look.
Quite a few sidebuds. This variety has been around 'for ages' and
still is a valuable peony because of her heavy dark foliage,
abundant flowering and high vigour. People even call her the white
'Sarah Bernhardt', because also the flower production and
planthabit is very similar.
