This paeony, which is commonly known in our gardens as P.wittmanniana, has been dealt with under the preceding account of the species. This form with glabrous carpels must now be known by Schipczinsky's varietal name of P.Wittmanniana var. nudicarpa to separate it from P.Wittmanniana proper, which has tomentose carpels. |
