LOUIE B. GAKER - William H. Krekler, 1976. Deep red Jap. Landscape type, center petaloids extra wide with unusual ends that are saw toothed and white. White side stripes down the back of these petaloids. Narrow petaloids by the collar petals of deep red, pistols pale green at base blending red near top. Reliable, medium height, has seeds, blooms with most Japs. Most unusual flower.
LOUISE MARX - Walter Marx, introduced by Rogers, Sherwood, Oregon, May 19, 1981. Seedling #68-14; Japanese; parentage unknown; first bloomed 1965. Pure white, many petaloids, cupped form, reliable; slightly fragrant, good substance, heavy amount of bloom, strong stems but willowy; height 30-36 inches; EM. Large crinkled foliage; tinged yellow, red stems; Mrs. Marx's favorite of all they ever grew.

MAID MARION - Registered by Busse Gardens, Cokato, Minnesota, July 16, 1984. Originator - Pees, Belle Center, Ohio - Busse Gardens. Seedling #S-1-12, 13, 14, 15, 16, C31 (Divided clump). Parentage unknown, first bloomed prior to 1978. Bloomed Cokato, Minnesota 1979. Medium pink Japanese, cupped, reliable, 34" height, strong stems, good green foliage, late bloom. Color of petals are veined as if a fine line pen has been used, giving petals a brushed look. Red carpels in large ball of yellow in center. Named after daughter, Marion Heidi.
MANDARINS COAT (68-30) - Walter Marx, Boring, Oregon, 1978. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 1968. Deep rose pink, Japanese - reliable, good substance, seeds profuse blooms. Strong stems, very early. Small medium green crinkled leaves. Dwarf, 18 inches in height. Stamenoids are red with golden yellow topping. Good cut flower. Introduced by Allan Rogers, Sherwood, Oregon.
MARSHMALLOW TART-Roy G. Klehm, May 29, 1985. Seedling #121 K. Parentage, Bowl of Cream bred seedlings (F3). First bloomed 1969. Pure white double lactiflora bomb. Good substance, no stamens, or pollen or seeds. No fragrance. Short plant habit with white marshmallow puffball-like blooms, good guard petals hold flower well. Height 22-24", midseason, good vigor with foliage of deep green. Good stem strength. Rock Garden Series. Klehm Nursery. Bulletin #255.
