POLLY SHARP (Carol Wamer, Upperco, Maryland), Dec. 1996. Parentage unknown. Seedling number PS-10, single lactiflora. First year bloomed 1980. Single, opens pink changes to marble white, then white. Good substance, heavy amount of bloom, covering entire plant, reliable, stamens, 1-2 buds per stem. Excellent stem strength, 26" in height, mid-season bloom, medium green foliage.
PORT ROYALE (Krekler-Roy Klehm), Dec. 1996. Parentage unknown. Seedling grown by Roy Klehm, bloomed about 1980, named and registered by Roy Klehm. This anemone is dark red, with center exactly matching deep red petaloids. No stamens, pollen or seeds. 3-4 buds per stem. Good stem strength, 30" height, blooms in mid-season.
PRAIRIE CHARM (Don Hollingsworth, Kansas City), Jan. 17,1992. Seedling number Hollingsworth 816, herbaceous, woody (tree peony) Itoh Hybrid, parentage Miss America x Lutea Hybrid Alice Harding - first bloomed before 1980. This Itoh Hybrid is semi-double, light yellow with prominent red-purple flares, stigmas, sheath and filaments creamy white, carpels green, anthers yellow with small amount of pollen. Medium size flower with 20-30 petals. Sometimes irregularly toothed at petal ends. 26-30 inches in height with excellent stem strength. Bulletin #281.
PRINCESS BRIDE (Roy G. Klehm), June 3, 1988. Seedling #110K. Parentage, line bred Bowl of Cream. First bloomed 1968. Pure white bomb, with large, rounded and cupped guard petals that hold a looser but pure white center ball of petals. Total flower is pure white set on good lush green foliage. Good stem strength, 28" in height, blooms early. Fragrant, no seeds, pollen or stamens. Bulletin #267.
PROMENADE (P. C. Laning), introduced by Caprice Farm Nursery, Sherwood, Oregon, April 26, 1990. Seedling number Seranade F-. Herbaceous hybrid, semi-double. Parentage: Third generation, P. lactiflora x P. macrophylla. First bloomed 1977. Blush pink, with pink overlay, average amount of bloom, flat form, good substance, has pollen, seeds, no fragrance, 24 inches height. Excellent stem strength, with heavy dark green foliage. Early season of bloom. Tetraploid, fertile both ways. (Registered Caprice Farm Nursery). Bulletin #275.
RASPBERRY CLOWN (Roy G. Klehm), Klehm Nursery, June, 1995. Seedling #KR47-57. Raspberry pink lactiflora. Good substance, 41/2"-high crowned bloom. Slight fragrance. Intense raspberry streaking and blotching on soft pink to cream base. 0-1 side buds, good foliage. Good stem strength, 34" height, blooms mid-season, pollen. Bulletin #295.
RASPBERRY RUMBA (Roy G. Klehm), Klehm Nursery, June, 1995. Seedling #KR47-63. Raspberry lactiflora. Good substance, prominent raspberry streaking and blotching, dancing the rhumba throughout each blossom. Good foliage. 4"-41/2"-wide bloom. 0-3 side buds. Attractive raspberry streaked buds. Raspberry tipped pistils. Very colorful. Good stem strength, 32-33" height, blooms mid-season, pollen. Bulletin #295.
RASPBERRY TWIST (Roy Klehm), Klehm Nursery, June, 1995. Seedling #KR43-22. Lactiflora, white base with raspberry streaking, twisted, fluted and notched petals. Bud is white streaked raspberry. 5" blooms on good strong stems, height 28", blooms early, very nice foliage. Good substance, pollen seeds, and fragrant. Bulletin #295.
RED WINDFLOWER (William J. Seidl, Manitowoc, Wisconsin), Jan. 18,1990. Seedling #76LSW-3, herbaceous hybrid, lactiflora, single. Parentage: Laddie x Sparkling Windflower. First year bloomed 1981. Red, single hybrid, has good substance and stem strength. Fertile both ways. It has stamens, pollen and seeds. Height 18-24", early bloom. The foliage is narrow, deeply divided, similar to its seed parent and other clones of the Windflower strain. This is probably a tetraploid. Bulletin #273.
