KEREN (Jones, 1937) Formerly REVERIE. Double - Pink - Late Midseason. 42" stems. Large rosette formation, light pink. Pink with an intriguing flush of lavender. Petals notched -large. Vigorous. Very handsome flower, carried well above foliage. Bulletin 71 - List in 91.

KEWANEE (Auten, 1930) - Single - Red - Early. Brilliant medium dark red, tending more towards carmine than crimson. Long season of bloom, and color holds. Bulletin 43.

KICKAPOO (Auten, 1931) - Single - Red - Late. Medium height. A bright red, stiff stems. Bulletin 47.

KIMPU (Japan) - Double - Pink. Medium pink, full double, excellent stem, exhibition favorite. Smirnow's 1955 catalog.

KILLINGTON (Freeborn, 1934) - Double - White - Late. Medium height. Tea rose fragrance. Large white, free bloomer. Petals in whorls similar to Solange. Strong grower, blooms on every stalk. Leaves and stems hairy. Plant strong. Opens with Marie Lemoine but buds do not have difficulty in opening. Named for Killington Mountain, the second highest peak in Vermont. Bulletin 57.

KING ALBERT (Kelway, 1916) .- Single - Rose-Violet, M.

KING BEE (Wright, 1935) - Double - Red - Midseason to Late Midseason. Medium height. Sweetly fragrant as Philippe Rivoire. Medium large double bomb, or chrysanthemum type with compact incurved or imbricated central petals with no stamens. Rich lustrous velvety dark red with less blue than Philippe Rivoire. Plant with plenty of foliage and strong stems holding flowers erect in any weather. Perfect form and unexcelled substance, holding color well in sun and rain and lasting long as a cut flower. Plant vigorous healthy grower, young and free bloomer; conspicuous and outstanding. Bulletin 60.

KING BOREAS (Wilkus, 1948) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Tall. Blooms globular and very large and full. Exhibition type and also a good cut flower as well as a show flower. Color is pure white with no trace of any other color. Exceptionally heavy stems, holding the blooms erect.

KING MIDAS (Lins, 1942) - Foliage rich, deep green. Bulletin 111. (1934) - Semi-Double. Crimson Maroon - Early. Tall. Erect, heavy grower Double - Red - Midseason. Medium height. Color pure red. Medium to Pink. Tall. Red - Midseason. Shining dark White - Late Midseason. A large flower with great, broad, pure white petals, like crinkled paper. Stems straight, slender but strong, clean light green. Especially fine for cutting. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 130. large size bloom. Stiff stems. Foliage dark green and stems well foliaged. Outstanding characteristics is its beautiful form, fully double, perfect rose form. An occasional petal is edged with gold filament. Bulletin 88. Klehm lists it in 1955 catalog as Mid.

KING OF ENGLAND (Kelway, 1902) - Jap. - Red - Early Midseason. Tall. Not very fragrant.Very large. Guards symmetrically cupped, of a very dark red shade between crimson and maroon, with a dull gloss; center incurved buff staminodes streaked with dark rose-pink; carpels green, covered with silky hairs and tipped buff. Floriferous; slender, wiry stems. Small foliage. A handsomely colored flower, excellent for garden decoration. M.

KINNEY (Winchell, 1941) - Double - Red - Midseason. Medium size, fine red color, good form, strong stems, good bloomer. Bulletin 83.

KING-KIMO (Origin unknown) - Jap. - Pink - Midseason. Medium height. Medium size. Dark, brilliant rose-pink guard petals irregularly disposed in a wavy cup; center a large cluster of vivid orange-pink staminodes, pinkish toward the base with yellow at the tips; carpels pinkish yellow, with a pink base and bright rose-red tips. Upright growth. Free blooming. Good foliage. A very bright, cheerful, and luminous color. M.

KINRAN (Japan) - Semi-Double - Red. Cherry red, shaded pink, enormous semi-double to double. Smirnow's 1955 catalog.

KINSUI (Origin unknown) - Jap. - White (Salmon-Pink). Light salmon-pink; two rows of petals; pure golden center; large flowers. 1956 Chautauqua Flowerfield catalog.

KIOTO (Millet, 1926) Jap. - Tyrian-Pink - M.

KIOWA (Auten, 1931) - Single - Red - Extra Early. Light red single, good stem and plant. Lasting qualities exceptional. A valuable addition. Bulletin 47.

KLONDIKE (Franklin, 1939) - Jap. - White - Midseason. Tall. This is our best Jap white. Pure white rounded cupped guard petals, on which a large sphere of narrow fringed petaloids of brilliant yellow is set. Plant is graceful. Stems stiff. Bulletin 76.

KNIGHT OF THE THISTLE (Kelway) - Jap. - Crimson. Dwarf. M.

KOBE (Kelsey, 1936) - Jap. - Pink - Early. Rose pink guards. Straw or buff colored incurved staminodes backed with rose. Center ball shaped. Interestingly different. List in Bulletin 109.
