PRIDE OF PAULDING (Neeley, 1920) - Double - Pink - Late. Strong rose fragrance. Large. Horizontal guards about a compact, ball-like center, later the guards relax, giving the flower a distinct cylindrical shape. Rich flesh-pink, creamy in the collar, and all petals slightly greenish at the base; stiff, heavy stems. M.

PRIDE OF REMINGTON (Gumm) - Deep Pink - Midseason - DISCARDED. Some say it is a Jap, some a double. List in Bulletin 91.

PRIDE OF SOMERSET (Kelway, 1928) - Single - Red - Early. Deep crimson. An improvement on Kelway's Lord Kitchner. Free flowering. Bulletin 38.

PRIMA DONNA (Franklin, 1939) - Double -Light Pink - Early Midseason. Late Midseason (Franklin list). Enormous light pink, full rose type double on the order of Lillian Gumrn but with a better stem. Bulletin 76.

PRIMEVERE (Lemoine, 1907) -'Double - White - Midseason. Tall. Moderately fragrant. Anemone type, medium size. A flattish flower with creamy white, cupped guards rarely splashed with red; center composed of short, narrow petals of canary-yellow becoming light with age. Floriferous, stems lax. Good dark green, rather coarse foliage. M.

PRINCE ALEXANDER (Origin unknown) - Single - Red - Midseason.

PRINCE BISMARCK (Kelway) - Single - Crimson - Midseason.

PRINCE CHARMING (Glasscock-Falk, 1955) - Jap. - Red - Early - Hybrid. Tall. Dark red with large center of yellow staminodes edged with red. Large. Parentage unknown. Hybrid seedling. (Bulletin 133, page 17: Large dark red single hybrid, stamens red at base, yellow anthers, carpels green tipped white, disc white. - Honorable Mention awarded Mrs. Elizabeth Falk for Prince Charming as a seedling.) Bulletin 138.

PRINCE de TALINDYKE - Double - Crimson - DISCARDED. This name came into American commerce through the mis-writing of some other name, but is now fixed and should stand. 1946 Wild catalog: Glossy, dark purple crimson. Tall grower. Good late variety. M.

PRINCE IMPERIAL (Calot, 1859) - Double - Red - DISCARDED - Midseason.

PRINCE OF DARKNESS (Brand, 1907) - Double - Red - Early. 1930 Wild catalog: An exceptionally dark maroon; sometimes will burn if exposed to the full rays of the sun. Early. M.

PRINCE OF JAPS (Lewis, 1927) - Jap. - Ox-blood-Red. Medium height. A new ox-blood-red with petaloid center of same color. Strong grower. M.

PRINCE OF PAULDING (Burke #10) - Jap. - Pink - Midseason. Dark pink with red tipped carpels and good yellow center of narrow staminodes. Good upright grower and makes a fine garden plant. A really fine dark pink Jap. Wild's 1954 catalog.

PRINCESS DULEEPSINGH  (Kelway) - Jap. - Pink - Early Midseason. 30" high. Wax fragrance. Medium size. A cupped flower with a double row of guard petals, dark old-rose-pink, center a large cluster of buff-yellow staminodes faintly stained with rose-pink at the base. Growth strong; free-blooming. Foliage dark green, broad and heavy. M.
