WHISKERS (Jones) - Jap. - Red. Red guard petals. Unusual name and bloom. Bi-color plume-like center. Very attractive. Tuckdawa 1955 catalog.

WHITE BATSON (Sass, 1930) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Large, white, good stems. List in Bulletin 91.

WHITE BEAUTY (Auten, 1931) - Double - White - Midseason. Tall. Fragrant. Large, exquisitely pearly white, immaculate. Stem good for cutting, but as plant is of spreading (not sprawling) habit, needs support in wet weather. An exquisite, outstanding peony. Bulletin 47. List in Bulletin 91.

WHITE BOMBER (Keagey) - White - Double. A large bomb shaped white that always attracts attention. The plant is strong and carries its bloom erect. A fine variety. Taken from Catalog of William Brown of Elora, Ontario, Canada.

WHITE CLOUD (Auten, 1931) - Jap. - White - (Midseason) - Early. Tall. Opening pale flesh and straw yellow. Good stem. Bulletin 47. List in Bulletin 91.

WHITE CLOUD (Jones) - Single - White. Listed in Jones 1955 catalog.

WHITE COCKADE (Keagey, 1946) - Single - White - Midseason. Medium height. A very large-flowered single with creamy white guard petals, smooth, pale green carpels and ivory stigmas. The stems are green. Its fine flower never fails to catch and hold attention. Bulletin 101.

WHITE CRANE (Auten, 1939) - Jap. - White. Tall. White and yellow Jap, medium sized bloom, carried gracefully on tall slender stiff stems. Bulletin 80.

WHITE DELIGHT (Auten, 1935) - Double - White - Early. Tall. Rose fragrant. An extra early, immaculate white double that is rose fragrant. It has large blooms and tall stems that are fine for cutting, but which might be better for garden effect. The blooms last well when cut. Its high quality and extreme earliness should make it a valuable cut flower variety. Bulletin 61 and list 61.

WHITE EAGLE (Sass, 1937) - Double - White - Early Midseason. Large flowers of purest white. Full rose type. Bulletin 69.

WHITE GOLD (Mann-van Steen, 1936) Jap. - White. Tall. Seedling No. 491. Deep yellow tuft in center. Tall graceful plant with wiry stems and nicer foliage. In a class with Isani Gidui. Bulletin 64.

WHITE GULL (Thurlows & Stranger, ) - Jap - White. A double row of broad rounded petals of white surround a cushion of yellow stamens. Red stigmas. Much admired by all who have seen it. Cherry Hill catalog.

WHITE INNOCENCE (Saunders, 1947) - Single - White - Hybrid. Height 4-1/2". Each graceful swaying stem has several pure white single blooms, with greenish centers. Unique and lovely. Albiflora x Emodi. List in Bulletin 129 and Saunders catalog, 1955.

WHITE JADE (Harding, 1955) - Double - White - Midseason. Rich rose fragrance. Herbaceous, rose type. A seedling of Festiva Maxima. Clear white, reflections of pale jade green in center. Finest, almost imperceptible, hairline of red on edge of center petals. Petals are large, wide, deep and cupped. Almost globular flower. Fine substance. Foliage and habit of growth of Festiva Maxima. Strong and healthy. Bulletin 61.

WHITE JAPAN (Origin unknown) - Jap. - White - Midseason.

WHITE LADY (Kelway, 1900) - Jap. - White -Late Midseason. Dwarf. Not fragrant. Large. White, undulated and cupped petals, surrounding a large center of yellow staminodes with rough edges, and pale green carpels yellow at base and tipped with orange. Floriferous, stiff stems. Good foliage. "The cupped form of the guard petals is a very noticeable characteristic of this variety." Christman. M.

WHITE MOTH (Auten, 1933) - Single - White - DISCARDED. Bulletin 54 - List in 91.

WHITE PEARL (Auten, 1931) - Double - Pink - Early. Extra early full double, opening pearly shell-pink with slight lavender cast. Fades to white in full sun. Exquisite form, like Marie Jacquin without stamens. Bulletin 47.

WHITE PERFECTION (Auten, 1931) - Single - White. Medium height. White single, broad petals beautifully cupped, wonderful substance, green carpels; good stem, fine carriage. Suggests a single Isani Gidui. Bulletin 47.

WHITE PRINCE (Risk, 1929) - Double - White - Late. Medium tall. Fragrant. Very large, late white with cream center. Rather flat bloom when fully open. Good foliage and free bloomer. Bulletin 39.

WHITE QUEEN (Wallace) - Jap. - White - Double. (Listed by Littleford) Described by Mr. Peyton as an anemone Jap, originated by Wallace. Bulletin 91, page 40.

WHITE ROSE (Shrader, 1942) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Medium height. Pleasing fragrance. Seedling No. 2. Planted seed in 1926. Had first bloom in 1930. Color pure white. Rose type, with some yellow stamens. Very large. Vigorous grower with dark green foliage. Broad leaves. Good type for landscape as stems are sturdy and of medium height. A symmetrical plant all summer. Bulletin 87.

WHITE SAILS (Scott, 1942) - Single - White - Midseason. Tall. Bulletin 91, List.

WHITE SHRINE (Kelsey, 1936) - Double - White - Early. Double, white with dashes of red. Outside petals pure white. Central petals pink and yellow with greenish tints at base. List in Bulletin 109. -
